Popular Nigerian singer,
Tiwa
savage’s fans have continued to congratulated the star on her new music deal
with popular American record label, Roc Nation. The former Mavin Records singer
was signed on Wednesday, by the founder of Roc Nation label, Shawn Carter,
popularly known as “Jay-Z’
Nene Udo, a hair stylist at Petals
Hair and Spa, said the star had been upgraded as a compensation for her good
work and great personality.
“Tiwa is a beautiful and lovely
woman who has had ups and downs in the last few months.
“I’m happy for her, because aside her
album release, she has a wonderful son, a deal with Pampers, and now a
recording deal with one of the biggest labels in the world within the last few
months,” she said. Simi Ogundipe said that she was happy for the singer and
added that the new partnership with Roc Nations couldn’t have come at a better
time.
“As a fan of Tiwa Savage, I am
exceptionally happy and proud of her. “Just last month, her husband decided to
misbehave and she had to shamefully talk about her terrible marriage. “I felt
terrible for her, though it made me respect her more because she did everything
possible to make people think her marriage was flourishing.
“This partnership with Jay –Z is
well deserved,’’ Ogundipe said. Chibuzor Mbanefo, an entrepreneur based in
Abuja, expressed happiness that such a strong personality like Savage was
signed on to such a prestigious label. “I am a great fan of Jay-Z and anyone
who listens to rap music or hip-hop in general, will agree with me when I say
he is the god of rap music.
“I feel honoured to be a Nigerian at this
moment, for the fact that Jay-z could pick a foreigner to be in his label and
decided to have our own Tiwa Savage in the label is just amazing to me,’’
Mbanefo said. Maulade Ologunja, a fashion blogger, told NAN that Savage’s progress
was an inspiration, stating that he had learnt that patience and hard work
always paid off eventually.
“I am proud of Tiwa savage and I
believe that we should all be inspired by her success story. “This shows that
when we are hardworking, patient, and do what is right, God would always raise
us to the level we deserve,’’ he said. Femi George, an upcoming fashion
designer in Abuja, congratulated the star and wished her the best in her new
label.
He expressed the hope that the
singer would continue to work hard. “I think it’s safe to say that Tiwa’s
composure and dedication to her work is enough to be rewarded with such a deal.
“She is beautiful, hardworking and passionate about her music, so I’m sure she
will do great things in Roc Nation. “I wish her the best there and hope she
continues to be productive.’’
According to Roc Nation
representatives, Briant Biggs and Shawn Pecas, arrangements are being made to
finalise the legal agreement after confirming that Jay-Z is impressed by
Savage’s catalogue and profile.
Savage, who recently went public about her
failed marriage, landed the deal because of her music creativity. Savage is
already scheduled to perform at the Made in America concert scheduled to hold
in Sept. where award winning American singer, Rihanna is listed as the
headliner of the concert.
